LG unveils latest DMB handset

LG-LB1700LG has released a new Digital Multimedia Broadcasting cellphone, the LG LB1700, which will be marketed only on Korea. Very small and rather light (106 g) with 2.0-inch LCD screen, this phone offers many features other than DMB, such as a 1.3 MegaPix camera, a MP3 player, and IPN function (In-Plane switching - function allows you to receive SMS text messages while watching TV broadcasts for uninterrupted viewing), an electronic dictionary, a text viewer, Mbank, microSD memory expansion .. Introducing Carbide.ui S60 Theme Edition

Nokia recently introduced Carbide.ui S60 Theme Edition for Symbian OS, a powerful and easy-to-use PC-based tool that lets designers and other creative professionals build customized user interfaces for S60 mobile devices. The latest addition to Nokia’s Carbide family of mobile-development tools, Carbide.ui offers WYSIWYG ease of use, drag-and-drop functionality, and seamless interplay with leading graphics creation tools. Developers and others with no prior experience in mobile UI design or knowledge of coding language can use the Carbide.ui Theme editor to customize all S60 UI elements, from background graphics and navigation bars to colors, sounds, and morphing effects. Once a Theme has been created, Carbide.ui S60 Theme Edition automatically packages it into an installation file and prepares it for Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) digital rights management (DRM) protection, if required, after which it will be ready for deployment to devices.

Nokia Introduces S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1

Nokia has enhanced S60 3rd Edition with a range of features that enable manufacturers of mobile devices to create smartphones for various user segments. The new S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 introduces features that include browsing, location capabilities, and device management functions. A single browser now supports both the full Web and mobile-optimized content. Browsing is made more compelling with a variety of features, such as auto complete, password manager, and a floating toolbar that gives quick and easy access to the most-used features. Advanced device management features enable businesses to manage add-on applications remotely, and the full-featured location middleware in the S60 platform makes it possible to efficiently create location solutions. Feature Pack 1 is backward-compatible with S60 3rd Edition, and applications developed for Feature Pack 1 will also run on 3rd Edition devices.
